Make an Impression

If she is in the habit of leaving any of her rings lying around, make an impression of one. A bar of soap, a piece of clay or even a piece of bread can be used to take a reliable measurement.

Once she has safely dozed off, take a string or piece of paper and wrap it around her finger very carefully. Use a pen to mark where the string or paper meets around the finger. Lay the paper flat and measure the distance – this is her finger’s circumference. Take this measurement to your jeweller.

The Real Thing

If bringing one of her rings to the jeweller without arousing any suspicion is a possibility, this is probably the safest course of action. Try to pay attention to which rings she wears on which fingers. Offer to take her jewellery to be cleaned and have the jeweller measure her ring at the same time.
