The cause of much trepidation and anticipation, this simple question has been known to make grown men sweat and send a shiver down the spine of any woman. After a little nibbling I was told to crack the chest open. WOW, the most beautiful ring was sitting in the middle of all the mousse. He got down on one knee and, of course, I said yes.

Usually it takes two or three hours to get seated, but he arranged it so we could walk straight in and have our table. He was stroking my hand, while we were waiting for dinner, and I said, that maybe something will happen with that hand. He said “How about tonight?”, got down on one knee, and told the entire restaurant how much he loved me and wanted to spend his life with me. I started crying, said “Yes”, and the entire restaurant got up and cheered for us. The restaurant was filled with celebrities, and it was televised nationally! It was the most amazing night of my life!

WE WENT TO A BEAUTIFUL ISLAND RETREAT...
This was a long overdue vacation for both of us and I was ecstatic to finally spend three long days away. I love to watch the sunrise, so on our second day, I was strolling by the shore and picking seashells. Damian is not usually a morning person so I was very happy that he agreed to walk with me and greet the new day. I never had a clue that he was planning something big that morning. I did not even doubt his enthusiasm in helping me look for coloured seashells and pebbles. He was babbling on about a movie that he had seen, then stopped mid-sentence to point out something that was partly covered in the sand. I bent over to check it out and saw that it was a small velvet box. Curious, I turned to him and found him kneeling before me. My heart started to pound and it became difficult to breathe when I realised that he was going to propose! He took both of my hands in his and gently kissed them.

Make Her Your Leading Lady
Arrange for a local movie theater to play a video tape of you before the feature, telling her how much she means to you and asking her to marry you. In front of and audience of hundreds, present her with the diamond ring.
Reveal Her Fortune
Steam a fortune cookie until it’s malleable. Open the it up carefully and place the ring inside with a note telling her how you’ll love her forever.
Love Time Capsule
Get creative and fill a box with almost-real mementos of your most important moments. For example, swizzle sticks, movie stubs, photos, etc. At the bottom of the box place the engagement ring.
Beach Betrothal
Take your love for a long walk on the beach. With the help of a good friend, have a special area set up with flowers, champagne, perhaps a violinist or other musician, and a proposal written in the sand. You can tuck the ring into your swim trunks to keep it a surprise (just don’t go for a dip before you pop the question!).
A Real Page-Turner
Scan the cover of a romance novel into your computer and superimpose a picture of the two of you. Cut out a hole in the book and place the diamond ring inside.
Ride of Her Life
Buy advertisement space on billboards found on route to work and on each one ask her if she’ll marry you. Await her where she parks with flowers, a ring, and a good excuse for her to call in sick that day.
A Work of Love
Ask a local museum to place the ring in a display case. Place a card reading that this was the very ring used by you on that particular date to ask her to be yours.

Take her snorkeling and lead her to discover the ring while the two of you are looking at a reef formation.
